COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland Athletics announced the launch of Terrapin Club+, a new online streaming platform featuring exclusive video content and programming that provides an unparalleled experience for Terrapin Club members. Terrapin Club+ (TC+) will debut on Monday, Nov. 23 with a free preview of two shows: The
Johnny Holliday Show and Behind The Play.
TC+ is part of the reinvented Terrapin Club as one of three new feature benefits along with ONE MARYLAND Magazine, which launched earlier this fall, and the Terrapin Club Backstage Pass, a program that gives members exclusive access and behind-the-scenes experiences.
Monday's release of The
Johnny Holliday Show will showcase Darryl Hill, the first Black to play sports at the University of Maryland and the first Black to play football in the ACC and the South. The Hall of Fame Voice of the Terrapins sat down with Hill as they discussed never-been-heard before stories about his journey to Maryland and what breaking the color barrier meant for sports, the university and society.
The first edition of Behind The Play focuses on the most famous play in Maryland women's basketball history, "The Shot" by Kristi Toliver, which propelled the Terrapins to the 2006 National Championship. The two-time WNBA Champion breaks down the execution of that legendary moment and how it set the stage for a standout career in college and the pros.
TC+ is slated to premiere two more shows in December as part of the free preview.
Game Changers is a documentary series chronicling the stories behind Terrapins who have overcome adversity, blazed trails, recovered from tragedy, or made an everlasting mark during their time in College Park. Among the subjects scheduled to be featured on Game Changers are Ayinde 'Ace' Eley who showed perseverance to recover from a brain condition to star for the Terps football team;
Walt Williams, a high school legend, who stayed home to play basketball for the Terps as he helped changed the course of the program's history.
The show entitled Home will follow the stories of current Maryland student-athletes as they take viewers to their hometowns to show off what makes living in Maryland and the DMV so special. From downtown Washington, D.C., to the Eastern Shore, it's all Home. December's rollout will feature Rainelle Jones of the Terps' volleyball program as she shows off Oxon Hill and the National Harbor in Prince George's County.
The fifth original show, Anyone Can, will start in January and showcases Maryland student-athletes from one sport competing in another to see how successful they can perform. Can a basketball player flip like a gymnast? Hit a fastball? Drive a golf ball 300 yards? Find out on each episode of Anyone Can.
Following the free preview during November and December, TC+ will be available exclusively to Terrapin Club members (at the Silver level and above) starting in January 2021 with five new shows premiering each month. For more information, please visit
