COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Coming off two straight wins, a 45-44 comeback win vs. Minnesota and a 35-19 victory at Penn State, the Maryland football team is back in action as the Terps will travel to Indiana to face the 12th-ranked Hoosiers on Saturday, November 28 at Noon. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2 and the Maryland Sports Radio Network. 
 

GAME FOUR STORYLINES

TAULIA TERRIFIC 
  • QB Taulia Tagovailoa has thrown for 676 passing yards in the last two games (394 vs. Minnesota and 282 at Penn State), the most by a Maryland quarterback in back-to-back wins since Scott Milanovich passed for 692 yards in back-to-back games in 1994 (341 vs. N.C. State and 351 vs. Virginia).
  • Tagovailoa had the fifth most passing yards among all Power Five quarterbacks during that two-week span, and the most in the Big Ten, only trailing Florida's Kyle Trask (819), Clemson's D.J. Uiagalelei (781), Miami's D'Eriq King (752) and North Carolina's Sam Howell (678).

SACK PARTY
  • Maryland tallied seven sacks in the win at Penn State (11/7), the most in a game since also totaling seven vs. Rutgers on 11/26/16 and the most in a conference road game since notching seven at Virginia Tech on 11/16/13.
  • Newcomers DL Mosiah Nasili-Kite and LB Ruben Hyppolite II led the Terps with two sacks apiece, the first time Maryland has had two players post two sacks since Jesse Aniebonam and Jermaine Carter Jr. did it in the 2016 Rutgers game.
  • Hyppolite is the first Maryland freshman to have two sacks in a game since Andre Monroe had 2.5 vs. Wake Forest on 11/19/11.

BRING THE FUNK
  • RB Jake Funk is averaging 7.81 yards per carry (336 yards on 43 carries), the second-highest average among all FBS running backs with more than 40 carries, only trailing Virginia Tech's Khalil Herbert (8.18).
  • Funk broke out in the Terps win over Minnesota (10/30), rushing for 221 yards, the 11th-most in a single game in program history and the most since Anthony McFarland Jr. had 298 vs. Ohio State (11/17/18) and followed that up with another 80 yards including a 38-yard touchdown in the win at Penn State (11/7).

STAR FRESHMAN
  • WR Rakim Jarrett had a standout game at Penn State (11/7), becoming the first true freshman wide receiver to have over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns since Stefon Diggs at West Virginia in 2012 (9/22).
  • Jarrett finished the game with five receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns, the second-most receiving yards ever by a true freshman, only trailing Stefon Diggs' 152 vs. Boston College on October 27, 2012 and the third-most by any freshman, trailing Diggs and Darrius Heyward-Bey (redshirt freshman), who had 175 vs. Miami on November 11, 2006. 
  • Jarrett ranks second among all freshman wide receivers in the FBS in receiving yards per game (71), fifth in receptions per game (four) and eighth in touchdowns (two).

  • LB Chance Campbell ranks third in the Big Ten in solo tackles per game with 5.7 after totaling 17 over the first three games of the season.
  • Campbell also ranks 10th in the FBS and second in the Big Ten with 11.3 total tackles per game, with 34 over the first three games of the season. The junior also leads the team and ranks fourth in the Big Ten in tackles for loss per game with 1.5 and has at least 0.5 in each game. 
  • Campbell scooped up a fumble forced by teammate S Nick Cross and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown against Penn State (11/7), the first Maryland defensive player to return a fumble for a touchdown since Dexter McDougle at NC State on 11/26/11.
