BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Maryland football team fell at #12 Indiana, 27-11 on Saturday afternoon.
WR
Dontay Demus Jr. tallied his fourth-career 100-yard receiving game and second of the season, posting six receptions for 114 yards and a 43-yard touchdown catch, his third of the season. This is the fifth-straight game the junior has had at least four receptions, becoming the first Terp to accomplish that feat since Stefon Diggs in 2014, when he had more than four receptions in the first seven games of the season.
Â
The Terps (2-2) defense kept Maryland in the game, down 7-3 at the break with a strong first half, holding the high powered Hoosiers offense to only 139 yards and only 37 passing yards, limiting Indiana QB Michael Pennix Jr. to just 2-of-13 passing. S
Jordan Mosley led Maryland with a career-high 12 tackles (eight solo).Â
Indiana (5-1) scored 10 points in the third quarter and 10Â in the fourth to go up 27-3 before Maryland used a
Taulia Tagovailoa to Demus Jr. touchdown and
Carlos Carriere two point reception to cut the deficit to 27-11.Â
Maryland will be back in action next week at Michigan, slated for a 3:30 kickoff on the Big Ten Network and Maryland Sports Radio Network.
