COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Each week during the 2019-20 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is freshman Daniel Maltz from men's lacrosse.
Maltz was critical in Maryland's comeback victory over #6 Penn on February 15, scoring five goals to help the Terps seal a 17-15 victory. Maltz scored four of his five goals during Maryland's eight-goal run to end the game, as UMD erased a six-goal second half deficit to move to 3-0 on the season.
Maltz became the first Terp to score three extra man goals in the same game since Xander Ritz tallied three against Georgetown back on February 25, 2006. The Ashburn, Va. Native has been a catalyst on the man-up unit for the Terps, scoring four of Maryland's five EMO goals through three games.
Maltz is fourth on the team in points for Maryland, totaling seven goals and a pair of assists in three games.
Maryland returns to action on Tuesday, February 18 for a road matchup at Villanova.
