COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland men's soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski announced the program's 2020 schedule schedule, featuring five matches, including against local rivals Virginia and Georgetown.
"As in the past, we have put together a very demanding spring schedule to challenge our returning players as we start to sculpt the identity of our 2019 team." Cirovski said. "We are excited to host Virginia and Georgetown along with taking on James Madison and Virginia Tech."
The Terrapins will participate in the Spring Soccer Cup, which features 10 of the elite programs in college soccer. Maryland will play in the North Division featuring Georgetown, Virginia, Virginia Tech and James Madison. The South Division includes Wake Forest, Duke, Clemson, NC State and North Carolina.
The Terps will play a round-robin schedule within its division before traveling to Wake Forest for the Spring Soccer Cup finals, where each team will play a match against the coinciding seed from the opposite division.
Maryland will host reigning national runners up Virginia on March 22 at Ludwig Field with kickoff set for 1 p.m. The Terps will head to James Madison on March 28 for a 2:30 p.m. match.
In a matchup of the last two national champions, the Terps will travel to Georgetown on April 1 to face the Hoyas at 9 a.m. Maryland will then host Virginia Tech on April 4 at Ludwig Field with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
The Spring Soccer Cup finals will take place April 19 at Wake Forest.
