Men's Golf Kicks Off Spring Season at Big Ten Match Play

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland men's golf team will compete in the 2020 Big Ten Match Play Championship on Friday and Saturday. The 13-team event will be held at the Ocean Course at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.
The teams have been drawn into a single-elimination bracket, with the seeds determined using the final fall Golfstat rankings. No. 11 Maryland will face off against No. 6 Rutgers. Each team match will consist of six individual matches. Play gets started on Friday morning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
In Friday's afternoon session, beginning at 1 p.m., top-ranked Northwestern will play the winner of the Iowa/Michigan match, Purdue will face the winner of the Indiana/Penn State match and Minnesota will take the course against the winner of Maryland/Rutgers.
On Saturday, the morning session (8 a.m.) features the championship semifinals and consolation semifinals, while Saturday afternoon concludes with the championship, third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches.
BTN will broadcast the 2020 Big Ten Match Play Championship on Sunday, March 1 at 10:30 a.m.
