Last Two National Champions Clash Saturday at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Maryland men's soccer team will take on Georgetown in its opening match of the spring schedule Saturday at Shaw Field. Kickoff between the last two NCAA National Champions is set for noon and admission is free. The game was originally scheduled for later in the spring.

The game is part of the Spring Soccer Cup which features 10 of the elite programs in college soccer.  The 10 schools were split into a North Division (Georgetown, Maryland, James Madison, Virginia, Virginia Tech) and a South Division (Clemson, Duke, NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest). Each program plays a round robin within its division throughout the spring season, which began in late February. At the Spring Soccer Cup on April 19, the teams will play one playoff match against the coinciding seed from the opposite division. It is the Terps' first match in the Spring Soccer Cup.
