BRADENTON, Fla. --Â Six former Terrapins are set to play in the WNBA Playoffs, beginning Tuesday night at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. All six active WNBA Terp alums are in the playoffs with their respective teams, second only to Connecticut.
Crystal Langhorne and the Seattle Storm are the No. 2 seed in the playoff. They earned a double bye and will play in the semifinals, after the first two rounds.
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and the Phoenix Mercury are the No. 5 seed and will tip off against Tianna Hawkins and the eighth-seeded Washington Mystics in the single elimination first round Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.Â
Three former Terps, Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and
Kaila Charles, and the seventh-seeded Connecticut Sun will take on the Chicago Sky Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the single elimination first round.Â
Four former Terrapins have won WNBA championships, including Kristi Toliver (2016, 2020), Langhorne (2018), Hawkins (2019 and Walker-Kimbrough (2019).
