COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland gymnastics team will compete in an eight-meet regular season, the Big Ten Conference announced Saturday morning. Times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date. All home meets will take place in the Xfinity Center. All dates are subject to change.

"We are so excited to finally see our schedule for this season, said head coach Bret Nelligan. "Being a part of the Big Ten conference, one of the best in the nation, gives us the opportunity to go head-to-head with some of the top teams in the country week in and week out. We are ready for the challenge."
Maryland will compete against five Big Ten opponents hosting four home meets and traveling to four away meets before competing at the Big Five Meet and Big Ten Championships. All eight regular season meets for the Terps will be dual meets.
The GymTerps enter the 2021 season coming off a record breaking 2020 stint including the top rank in program history (No. 8), the highest team bars score in program history (49.425) and highest individual bars scores (9.950).
Maryland opens the season against the No. 25 ranked Nittany Lions in State College, Pa. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 6:00 p.m. This is the first dual meet in a home-and-home series.
The GymTerps will host Michigan State in the Xfinity Center the following weekend of Friday, Jan. 22. Maryland will then head north to Piscateway, N.J. to face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. in what will be the first meet in a home-and-home series.
The Terps will return home once more to host Penn State the weekend of Feb. 5, before heading west to face to meet with the Iowa Hawkeyes the following weekend of Feb. 12.
Maryland will meet with the No. 6 ranked Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor, Mich. In the first of a home-and-home series on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The Terps will finish the season in the Xfinity Center hosting Rutgers in back-to-back weekends of March 5, and Michigan on March 12.
The Big Five Meet will be held the weekend of Feb. 26 to 28. The Big Ten Championship is scheduled for Saturday, March 20, time and location pending. The NCAA selection date is set for Monday, March 29.
NCAA Championships Rounds 1-3 will be held April 1-3, pending location. The NCAA Semifinal and Championship will be held in Fort Worth, Texas April 16-17.
The season will begin with no fans in attendance at Xfinity Center out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student-athletes and fans.
