COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Two members of the Maryland field hockey squad were named to USA Field Hockey's Junior World Cup Roster Monday. Freshman Hope Rose and senior Riley Donnelly were named to the 18-member squad.
Â
The Junior World Cup will take place December 5 to 16 in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
Â
Rose was named the Most Valuable Player in the Junior Pan American Games in August.
Â
The Junior USWNT will take part in a pre-tournament holding camp from November 26 to 29 at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. The following day the selected team will depart from Charlotte to make the trip to Potchefstroom, South Africa.
Â
Although the official schedule has not yet been released, all matches of the Junior World Cup will be streamed live on Watch.Hockey.
Â
Due to the initial COVID-19 postponement, the age restrictions for the Junior Pan American Championship shifted to reflect originally eligible athletes. For the Junior World Cup, only athletes born in 2000 or later are eligible to compete and this eliminated Gianna Glatz from the original JPAC roster.
