COLLEGE PARK, MD – A dominant two-way performance by Rainelle Jones propelled Maryland past Indiana. The Terps are now 14-4 on the year and 2-4 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers moved to 8-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

The Terps started the first set on fire by reeling off seven straight points to open a commanding lead. Jones dominated with a four-kill, seven-block set, giving Maryland the 25-14 win. Jones once again proved to be too much for the Hoosiers, compiling five more kills and two more blocks in a 25-17 set win, giving Maryland a commanding 2-0 lead in the match. The third set was tighter but Maryland's size and power allowed it to finish off the sweep with a 26-24 set win.

Filling The Statsheet

• Jones and Paula Neciporuka tied for a team-high in kills with 11, with Sam Csire accounting for 9.
• Kaylee Thomas replaced Milan Gomillion in the lineup and had a team-high 18 digs with Neciporuka and Sydney Dowler both getting 11.

Making it Rainelle

• Rainelle Jones has been a force all year, leading the country with 1.8 blocks per set. 
• Jones finished with a team-high 12 blocks on the night.
• She's up to 478 kills and 665, closing in on a 500 kill/500 block career.

Dowler Power

• Dowler entered the weekend fourth in the Big Ten with 10.4 assists per set.
• She also led the Terps in assists on Saturday night with 39.

Hughes Milestone

• The victory over the Hoosiers gave head coach Adam Hughes his 50th career victory as the leader of the Maryland volleyball team for four seasons. 

Return To College Park

• Indiana head coach Steve Aird was the Maryland head coach from 2014-17 where he compiled a 55-74 record, and going 19-61 in conference play.
• Maryland is now 5-1 against Aird-led Indiana teams.

• Maryland will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to take on the Wolverines on Friday, Oct. 15 at 7 pm. They take on Michigan State later that weekend.
