Rose Earns Third Big Ten Weekly Honor

ROSEMONT, IL – Freshman forward Hope Rose of the fourth-ranked Maryland field hockey squad earned her third Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor Monday.

Rose helped the Terrapins (13-5) the regular season on a four-game win streak. She scored the game-winner and the first goal of in a 6-0 win over No. 24 Ohio State Friday. Just under 11:00 into the game, Rose sent a shot in off a corner and it deflected into the goal for the lead the Terps would never relinquish.

Rose is second on Maryland's squad with eight goals and three assists this year.

Rose was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Sept. 28 and Oct. 12. She leads all freshmen in the Big Ten in scoring.

Maryland earned the No. 6 seed in the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament this weekend at Rutgers' Bauer Track & Field Complex.

The Terrapins will take on third-seeded Penn State (13-4) Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Quarterfinals. The Terps-Nittany Lions matchup will be streamed on B1G+.
