Before Maryland: Liu joins the Terps as a five-star recruit (tennisrecruiting.net), ranking as high as No. 36 in the class of 2022, and the No.1 ranked recruit in the state of Maryland. This past year, Lui has made a tremendous statement on the court. On the National Junior Circuit, she consistently competed through to the Quarterfinals of numerous national tournaments as well as Three Semifinal appearances; including the L2 event in Delray Beach, Fl. Lui has also made Two runs through to the finals, in which she claimed the singles title at the L3 In Peachtree City, GA earlier this year. Lui has also amassed 4 wins vs Top 30 players in her class and 1 win vs a top 20 player.
The Maryland native has also represented Team USA in the prestigious North American IC Rod Laver Worldwide Junior Challenge, and Won the MPSSAA Tennis State Championship Title as a freshman. Lui compiled a 12-1 overall record en route to claiming the State championship title.
Lui trains at the nearby Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, and will graduate high school a semester early to join us for the 2022 Spring semester. She plans to major in Finance.
In addition to her tennis success, Liu is also ranked in the top 50 in the nation in both badminton and table tennis, while also participating in volleyball, cross country and track and field.
