COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Ashley Owusu scored 24 points and No. 9 Maryland completed a season sweep of Minnesota with a 94-62 victory Saturday.
 
Diamond Miller added 20 points with three steals and Katie Benzan finished with 17 points for the Terrapins, who have won five consecutive games by an average of 35 points. Chloe Bibby added 10 points for the Terrapins, who shot 55%.
 
Maryland (16-2, 12-1 Big Ten) stifled Minnesota with its pressure and scored 23 points off 13 turnovers.
 
"Just really pleased, I thought it was another great 40 minutes of effort," head coach Brenda Frese said. "Our energy and our intensity, for the most part, I really liked how we came out defensively. The stat that jumps out to me is we had only five turnovers this entire game.
 
"I just can't say enough with the two next to me, Diamond and Ashley. Diamond, we've been really working through just trying to improve her game on so many levels and just the ownership. She's by far the most improved player in the league what she brought to the table defensively, getting on the glass, the assists that she's making on top of her scoring. I thought Ashley just continues to run this team. She's the No. 1 scorer and assists leader for us with the No. 1 scoring team in the country when you talk about the plays that she's making for our team."
 
Kadi Sissoko led Minnesota (7-11, 6-10) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Sissoko has scored in double figures 12 times this season.
 
The second half didn't get any better for the Golden Gophers, who lost their second straight game.
 
A 3-pointer by Taisiya Kozlova gave Maryland a 70-37 lead late in third quarter and Frese was able to freely rotate a lineup that consisted of just eight players the rest of the way.
 
The Terrapins took advantage of their size and outscored the Golden Gophers 44-26 inside the paint and outrebounded them 33-28.
 
Maryland played uptempo and a layup by Benzan provided a 33-13 lead midway through the second quarter before Minnesota's Jasmine Powell scored and Sissoko responded with back-to-back field goals. Two free throws by Miller gave the Terps a 49-25 lead at the break.
 
 Maryland is now 11-1 vs. Minnesota all-time and a combined 93-5 vs. nine of the 13 other Big Ten schools (Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Northwestern, Michigan, Indiana, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Penn State and Rutgers) since joining the Big Ten in 2014. Maryland is 104-13 (.889) in Big Ten play over the last seven seasons.
 
Next, Maryland will host Iowa (12-6, 8-6) Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET at the XFINITY Center. The Terps-Hawkeyes game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
