View From The Box
- The Terps were upended by Ohio State in a fairly nondescript content at Ludwig Field. Joe Ortiz had the winner for Ohio State of a Laurence Wooten cross in the 72nd minute.Â
- The first 45 minutes did not feature much forward action from either side, as the Terps and Buckeyes battled in the center of the park for control of the match.Â
- Maryland started more brightly in the second half, with freshmen Jacen Russell-Rowe and Ben Bender creating a couple of chances in the opening stages. Mike Heitzmann also came off the bench and had a solid opportunity at the top of the box, but fired his shot high in the 63rd meeting.Â
- Ohio State broke through in the 72nd minute. Wooten took the ball down the right wing and sent a cross into the box that was turned in by Ortiz past Maryland goalkeeper Jamie Lowell.
- The Terps took control of the possession for the remainder of the contest, but never created the chance necessary to level the match.Â
From The Boss
"We are a work in progress. We've got a few things to figure out and we'll figure them out. I take full responsibility for my team not being at the level that we should have been. We'll get out of this hole sooner than later." -
Sasho Cirovski
From The Boys
"We are disappointed. I thought we trained really hard this week and we were hoping to put forth a better performance than last week. We missed on the little things. Overall, we just weren't good." -
