Maryland is 4-5-5 against Michigan State in the all-time series. The teams drew 1-1 in East Lansing in 2019. The two programs also shared the 1968 National Championship.

Freshmen Jacen Russell-Rowe has made an impact since joining the Terrapins, including providing the winning goal in the Terps 1-0 over Wisconsin. The Canadian youth national teamer leads the Terps with two goals so far this season. 

Sasho Cirovski captured his 400th win in a 2-1 win over Rutgers. He became the sixth Division I men's soccer head coach to win 400 matches at one school.
