Maryland Falls To Rutgers In Four Sets

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The University of Maryland volleyball team fell to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in four sets on Saturday at the College Avenue Gym in Piscataway, New Jersey. With their win, Rutgers completed the season sweep of the Terps. Maryland returns home next weekend to host Northwestern for the final two matches of the season.

- Senior outside hitter Erika Pritchard led the squad with 11 kills. She also tallied eight digs, three block assists, and one assist.
- Junior middle blocker Rainelle Jones notched nine kills on 18 attacks, good for a .444 hitting percentage. Jones also tallied three block assists in the match.
- Freshmen Laila Ricks and Sam Csire were also productive offensively, adding nine and eight kills, respectively.
- Freshman setter Sydney Dowler dished a team-high 38 assists, a new career-high for the Cary, N.C. native.
- In the pass game, senior libero Sam Burgio tallied a team-best 26 digs.
- Maryland concludes the regular season by hosting Northwestern for a two-match series April 2-3 in College Park.
