Terps Win Five-Setter Against Northwestern

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland began its last regular-season series of the year on Friday night in the XFINITY Center Pavilion, beating Northwestern in a come-from-behind five-set thriller. Maryland totaled 20 overall team blocks, tying its best mark of the season when the Terps also tallied 20 in a five-set loss at Michigan.

- Maryland improves to 5-14 on the season and breaks a four-match skid with its win over Northwestern, who falls to 3-6.
- Senior outside hitter Erika Pritchard was sensational in her penultimate showing as a Terp, tallying 16 kills on 32 attempts with just two attack errors (.438 hitting percentage). The Middletown native led the team in kills, also contributing eight digs and five blocks.
- Freshmen Sam Csire and Laila Ricks were also crucial offensively, both hitting over .350 and combining for 17 kills.
- Nicole Alford and Sydney Dowler split the setting duties, notching 18 and 24 assists, respectively. Alford eclipsed 2,000 career assists with her third of the evening, just the seventh Terp in program history to acheive the feat.
- Senior libero Sam Burgio was solid in the pass game, leading the team with 19 digs.
- Maryland spread the wealth at the net, as five Terps recorded four or more blocks. Cara Lewis led the charge with nine, while Rainelle Jones added eight.
- Maryland closes its season with Senior Day as Maryland takes on Northwestern again on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. EDT. The match will be streamed live on Big Ten Network Plus.
