
Terps Take Down Indiana, 3-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Freshman outside hitter Sam Csire had a breakout performance, leading the Maryland volleyball team with 16 kills and 14 digs as the Terps hit .276 to upend Indiana, 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21) on Saturday evening.
Maryland saw key performances from their freshman class led by Csire, who tallied 16 kills on 36 swings, a .417 hitting percentage to lead the way. Freshman setter Sydney Dowler also had a double-double with 37 assists and 14 digs while freshman middle blocker Laila Ricks led a dominant blocking performance, out-blocking Indiana 16-5, with nine of her own to go with eight kills and six digs.
Rainelle Jones and Cara Lewis were also key on the Terps block with eight and seven apiece while Erika Pritchard led the match with 17 kills to help pace the offense.
The Terps secure their second win of the season and now move to 4-1 against Indiana under head coach Adam Hughes.
