COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland volleyball head coach Adam Hughes announced the addition of Maryland volleyball alumna Zoe Huang as an assistant coach on Oct. 14, 2026.
"I am thrilled to welcome Zoe," Hughes said. "I think she is our first alumna to return as an assistant coach in 30 years. She is from this area and means a lot to our program. She was a model student-athlete, served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), was an incredible competitor and will be a great mentor for our future Terps."
Huang earned her bachelor's degree in marketing in 2025 before completing her master's degree in management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business in 2026.
Huang brings coaching experience to the staff, having worked at Maryland volleyball camps during her playing career and coached club volleyball with Metro Volleyball Club. Her experience working with young athletes and her familiarity with the Maryland program will help her mentor and develop future Terps.
During her playing career as a setter, Huang earned Academic All-Big Ten honors three times (2022, 2023 and 2024) and received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2023. As a senior in 2024, she recorded a career-high 36 assists against UCLA.
