Terrapins Earn All-Big Ten Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Four members of the Maryland field hockey squad earned All-Big Ten honors Monday. Senior Brooke DeBerdine and junior Riley Donnelly earned First Team honors, while junior Bibi Donraadt was named to the Second Team. Senior Kyler Greenwalt earned a Sportsmanship Award.
DeBerdine has started in 80 games of her career. She has served as the Terrapins' team captain this season. She was named to the Big Ten Players to Watch List at the start of the season. She was named to the 2017 NCAA All-Tournament Team and twice earned NFHCA All-Region honors. This is her first All-Big Ten honor.
Donnelly is Maryland's leading scorer with six goals this season. She has also notched three assists and is a key anchor to the Terps' backline. She was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on March 8 and Defensive Player of the Week on March 22. This is Donnelly's first All-Big Ten honor as well.
Donraadt has scored five goals with a team-high five assists this year for Maryland (8-6, 5-3 B1G). She was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2018. That same year, she was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team and earned NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region honors.
Greenwalt has scored three goals with an assist this season as she continued her return from a knee injury suffered in 2018.
The Terrapins are the No. 4 seed in the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament this week in Iowa City, Iowa. Maryland will take on fifth-seeded Iowa Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. ET in the Quarterfinals at the Hawkeyes' Grant Field. All eight games of the Big Ten Tournament will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
