COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Maryland men's soccer team (4-4-2) opens up its NCAA Tournament run with a match with Missouri State Sunday afternoon. The match will kickoff at 1 p.m., at UNCW Soccer Stadium on the campus of UNC-Wilmington. It will be shown on the Seahawk Digital Network and live stats can be found here.
With a win, the Terps would advance to face the winner of seventh-seeded Washington and Grand Canyon, who are playing in Mathews, N.C. The entire NCAA Tournament will be played in the state of North Carolina. This will be the first all-time meeting between Maryland and Missouri State in men's soccer.

- Missouri State enters the NCAA Tournament after a sterling 11-1-0 season that included the MVC regular season and tournament championships. The Bears captured the Missouri Valley Tournament title after a 1-0 win over Loyola-Chicago.
- The Bears are making their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth overall. The Bears earned their first NCAA Tournament win in program history last season, defeating Denver and finished the season 18-1-1, including a 10-0-0 conference record.

- Maryland qualified for its 38th NCAA Tournament appearance overall and 20th consecutive berth when the field was announced on April 19th.
- The Terps have won four national titles (1968, 2005, 2008, 2018) in school history and reached the round-of-16 in 19 of the last 26 years. Maryland's 20 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances represents the second longest active streak in the nation.

Four Terps were selected for All-Big Ten honors, announced last week. Paul Bin, Brett St. Martin and Ben Bender were all placed on the All-Big Ten Second Team. Bender and Jacen Russell-Rowe were named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team. Mike Heitzmann was honored as the Terps' Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.

Sasho Cirovski, one of the most decorated coaches in college soccer history, won his 400th match at Maryland when the Terps defeated Michigan on March 11. Cirovski currently has 428 wins all-time, the sixth-most among active coaches. With 402 wins at Maryland, Cirovski is one of just six coaches in history with 400 wins at one Division I school.
