Champaign, Ill. – The Maryland Outdoor track and field began the Big Ten Championship weekend off with a record setting performance.

Women's Notes
- Angel Nkwonta set a new program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 62.76m. This moves Nkwonta to No.1 to pass previous record holder, Alice Barnsdale. This is a new personal record for Nkwonta.
- Alice Barnsdale finished just behind Nkwonta at No. 5 in the hammer throw standings with a final mark of 60.71m.
- Kamryn Henderson finished in the hammer throw competition with a mark of 52.18m.
- Christine Laurie raced to a season best 4:32.52 in the 1500m with Anna Coffin and Amanda Eliker setting personal bests. Coffin ran 4:34.55 and Eliker finished in 4:39.32.
- Nadia Hackett finished the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.29.
- Jaida Smith powered through the 200m dash.
Men's Notes
- Caleb Dean placed first in his heat and second overall in the 400m hurdles. Dean finished with a personal best time of 50.86s. This moves him up the Maryland record books to No. 5 all-time. Dean will advance to the 400m hurdle finals.
- Drake Murphy earned a new PR in the 400m hurdles at a time of 54.76s.
- Freshman Justin DePinto set a new personal best in the 1500m with a final time of 3:51.47.
- Rylan Flint capped off the day in the 10k with a final time of 32:00.88.

"We gained some strong momentum with points in the Women's Hammer and the advancement of Dean in the 400 hurdles. The team is performing at their best when it counts."
