LINCOLN, Neb. - Maryland softball fell to the Nebraska Cornhuskers 8-0 in five innings on Sunday to wrap up the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Maryland will stay on the road to take on Rutgers, May 7-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maryland threatened with runners after a passed ball and single from Taylor Okada put the Terps on base
- A single from Haley Ellefson gave Okada the chance to get Maryland on the board, but the Terp couldn't pass the plate in time
- Nebraska answered back in their first appearance with three runs on two hits including a homer to put them over Maryland early 3-0
- After the Terps retired in order in the top of the second, the Huskers made an additional two runs on two hits to further extend their lead
- A sac fly from Billie Andrews in the bottom of the third brought Nebraska home to put them over Maryland 6-0
- Two consecutive homers from Nebraska in the bottom of the fourth brought things to 8-0, and a quick three outs from the Terps ended things for the Huskers to take the game and the series
Maryland will stay on the road to take on Rutgers, May 7-9.
