Olankitkunchai Selected for Arnold Palmer Cup

NORMAN, Okla. – Virunpat Olankitkunchai has been named to The Arnold Palmer Cup International Team, as announced on Tuesday. A total of 36 players were named, consisting of nine men and nine women per side. All selections were made by committee picks. The event will be hosted by Rich Harvest Farms on June 11-13, 2021.

This marks the first ever Terrapin to be selected for the event. She will also be joined by head coach Diana Cantu, who was previously announced as an assistant coach for the International Team. The Terp has had a tremendous spring season this year with Maryland, competing in all six events, finishing in the top-20 in each event and highest for the team in half. She started the season by placing first in the FAU Invitational and set a new under par program record of -11 with her score of 205 (69, 67, 69), and contributed to Maryland's new program record 18-hole low of 278 at the same event. Olankitkunchai has been an integral part to helping the Terps finish within the top-3 at every event they competed in this season, and has been ranked as high as No. 10 by Golfstat.
