Richardson Earns Multiple Weekly Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland men's soccer redshirt senior defender Nick Richardson earned multiple weekly honors this week after a standout week that saw him involved in all four of Maryland's goals in an unbeaten week.

The Baltimore native was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and was included in both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News' National Teams of the Week. Richardson notched a goal and three assists, including the winning goal against Rutgers in a dramatic 3-2 comeback win. The Terps' right back also assisted on the first two goals against the Scarlet Knights.

Richardson assisted on Stefan Copetti's equalizing goal at Northwestern to help the Terps' secure a point. This is his second Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. He was also named the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week for his performance.

Maryland returns to action Friday night against Wisconsin at Ludwig Field. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m., and the game can be seen live on ESPNU.
