series history
- Sunday's matchup with Rutgers will be the 40th meeting between the Terps and Scarlett Knights. Maryland holds a 34-4-1 series advantage and a 20-0 record in College Park. Maryland had last played Indiana on Sept. 24, 2021 defeating Indiana by a score of 8-2.
- In 2021 Rutgers claimed a 1-0 victory over Maryland in Piscataway, N.J., with that win the Scarlet Knights snapped a 17-game series win streak for the Terps which dated back to 1999.

B1G Offense
- Maryland fields one of the strongest and most versatile attacking units in the country featuring six players (Hope Rose, Leah Crouse, Danielle Van Rootselaar, Bibi Donraadt, Emma DeBerdine and Riley Donnelly) who currently have five or more goals on the season
- The Terps lead the Big Ten in both goals (61), goals per game (4.35) and scoring margin (3.15)
- Maryland currently ranks No.1 in the NCAA in goals per game and points per game (12.43)

Perfection at the plex
- Maryland comes into Sunday with a perfect 8-0 at the Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse Complex.
- The Terps are 209-25 (.893) all-time at the Complex
- Maryland is coming off two dominant victories in College Park outscoring their opponents by a combined 16-1 margin, while holding a 76-2 advantage in total shots.
- The Terps claimed a historic 11-0 victory over Georgetown on Tuesday, Oct. 11. Maryland's 11 goals are their most since 2010, and the 11-goal margin of victory was the highest since 1999.
- Maryland also earned a dominate 5-1 victory over Indiana that featured five different goal scorers and a 34-2 shot advantage. With this win Maryland advanced to a perfect 6-0 record in the Big Ten, remaining the only undefeated team in conference play.
- The Terps had a successful weekend in College Park from Sept. 23-25, collecting two Big Ten wins over Michigan and Michigan State.This included claiming an intense 1-0 overtime victory over Big Ten rival Michigan. Leah Crouse punched in the her fourth game winning goal of the season to lift Maryland to the Top-10 victory.
35 Years of Missy
- Coach Missy Meharg enters her 35th season at the helm of the Terps, having led her squads to a record of 605-156-9 with a winning percentage of over 79 percent
- The nine-time National Coach of the Year has amassed 19 Final Fours, 12 NCAA title game appearances and seven NCAA Championships over her tenure
- This past season, Meharg became just the third Division I head coach to reach the 600-win mark. Her 605 wins are the most-ever by any Maryland coach in history across all sports
- Meharg has coached 56 All-Americans, 19 Conference Player of the Year recipients and six of her former student-athletes were named National Player of the Year

Best of the Best on the horizon
- The Terps play an impressive 18-game slate, consisting of 10 non-conference games and 8 conference games.
- Maryland will host 10 home games in 2022 including the 22nd annual Terrapin Invitational.
- The Terrapins will once again play one of the most difficult schedules in the nation playing 12 teams ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Pre-Season Top 25 including 10 ranked in the Top 15.
