ROSEMONT, IL – Senior Diamond Miller of the Maryland women's basketball team was named to the All-Big Ten Preseason Team Wednesday for the second straight season.
Miller, a two-time All-Big Ten honoree and 2021 Big Ten Tournament Co-MVP, is Maryland's leading returning scorer after averaging 13.1 points and 4.0 rebounds last year. Miller earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors. She scored in double figures in 17 of her 22 games played on the year.
Miller became the 36th Terrapin to reach the 1,000-career points mark with her 23-point performance in the Terps' NCAA Tournament First Round win over Delaware.
The Terrapins were picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten by both the league's head coaches and media panel. Both groups picked Iowa to win the conference. The coaches selected Ohio State to finish second and Indiana to finish third with Michigan rounding out the top five.
The media panel selected Indiana to finish second, Ohio State third and Michigan once again fifth.
The Terrapins will host two of last year's Final Four teams, as they and play one of the toughest schedules in the country. Their out of conference schedule is highlighted by home matchups with defending national champion South Carolina and Connecticut, as well as road trips to Baylor and Notre Dame.
