Diamond Miller of the 14th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (4-1) was named Big Ten Player of the Week Monday for her first career weekly honor.

Miller, a native of Somerset, N.J., led the Terrapins to two important victories – a dominant win over Davidson Wednesday and a top-20 road win at No. 17 Baylor Sunday. Miller averaged 25.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals while shooting 53 percent (18-34) from the floor.

Miller scored a career-high 32 points with 10 rebounds in the Terps' top 20 win at No. 17 Baylor Sunday. Miller scored 12 points in the second quarter to put the Terps up 10 at half. After a 9-0 run by the Bears to start the second half, Miller answered with another 12 points in the third quarter. She hit a key three with one second left in the period to help put the Terps up six. With Maryland up by four with 3:00 left, Miller made two key free throws, then three more, down the stretch.

In Maryland's win over Davidson on Wednesday, Miller led Maryland with 19 points, six assists and four steals. She's scored in double figures in all four games played this year and has led the Terps in scoring in three straight wins. She's picked up two double-doubles this year, the fourth and fifth of her career.

Miller is averaging 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and shooting 40 percent (6-15) from outside the arc this season.

Miller has been named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll twice in her career.

Next, Miller and the Terps will take on DePaul (2-2), Towson (2-0) and Pitt (4-0) this weekend in the Fort Myers Tip-Off in Fort Myers, Fla. Friday's 11:30 a.m. game vs. the Blue Demons will be televised on FS2. All three games can be heard through the One Maryland app.
