COLLEGE PARK, Md. - No. 2 Maryland begins their their quest for a ninth NCAA Tournament Championship as they face No. 13 Liberty. The Terps will match up against the Flames in the first round on Friday, Nov. 11 at 12 p.m.

THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES

series history

Friday will mark the third overall matchup between the Terps and Flames, as the two teams will square off in the NCAA tournament in consecutive seasons.
Liberty claimed a tightly contested 3-2 double OT win over the Terps in last seasons NCAA Semifinal matchup.
Liberty comes into the first round after defeating UConn and Old Dominion en route to their second straight Big East Tournament Championship.

B1G Offense

Maryland has fielded one of the strongest and most versatile attacking units in the country this season featuring seven players (Hope Rose, Leah Crouse, Danielle Van Rootselaar, Bibi Donraadt, Emma DeBerdine, Margot Lawn and Riley Donnelly) who currently have five or more goals on the season.
The Terps lead the Big Ten in both goals (76), goals per game (3.80) and scoring margin (2.30)
Maryland currently ranks No. 2 in the NCAA in goals per game and No. 1 in points per game (11.00)
The Terps end the regular season ranked No. 2 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Pre-Season Poll.

Championship Time

Maryland, the 2022 Co-Big Ten Champions, are seeking their ninth National Championship all-time, claiming their last NCAA title in 2011.
The Terps have won eight NCAA Championships including five over seven season from 2005 to 2011.
The Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has played home to 28 of Maryland's NCAA Tournament games, and played host to three Final Fours (2007, 2010, 2014). The Terrapins are 25-3 in those games and won the 2010 national title on their home field.
The Terps are 16-2 in overtime or shootout games in the NCAA Tournament.

Coach Missy Meharg is in the midst of her 35th season at the helm of the Terps, having led her squads to a record of 622-159-9 with a winning percentage of over 79 percent
The nine-time National Coach of the Year has amassed 19 Final Fours, 12 NCAA title game appearances and seven NCAA Championships over her tenure
This past season, Meharg became just the third Division I head coach to reach the 600-win mark. Her 622 wins are the most-ever by any Maryland coach in history across all sports
Meharg has coached 56 All-Americans, 19 Conference Player of the Year recipients and six of her former student-athletes were named National Player of the Year

The Terps will play Liberty in the first round on Friday, Nov. 11 at 12 p.m.
All three NCAA Championship matchups will be available live on B1G+ free of charge.

Tickets are for sale and can be purchased by clicking here or at the ticket booth on-site. Fans will not be admitted to the complex without a ticket.
Parking is available in lot 11b free of charge beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tailgating will be allowed in this lot after 10:00 a.m.
There is inclimate weather on the forecast for Friday's matchups, however, umbrellas will not be permitted inside the complex under any conditions. Also, please be aware that in the event of lightning all fans will be asked to leave the complex and return to their vehicles.
