ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The No. 23 Terps bested Navy for the second year in a row behind three major decisions by the Terps. With the win, Maryland is 5-0 for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
Starting at 174-pounds, the Terps got off to a quick start with a tight 2-1 decision win by Dominic Solis. The teams traded victories in the next four bouts, but major victories by Jaxon Smith and Braxton Brown gave the Terps an extra advantage in team points.
Trailing 12-11 with three bouts left, Ethen Miller picked up a huge major decision and then Michael North gave the Terps some breathing room with a decision to secure the win.
Navy did not get any bonus points as the Terps held all their losses to decisions.
