Trio of Terps Ready for Super Bowl LVI

Jake Funk ('20) and Antoine Brooks Jr. ('19) are on the Los Angeles Rams roster, while Keandre Jones ('19) will play for the Cincinnati Bengals. Funk and Jones are both on their team's active roster and will play in the game, while Brooks is on the practice squad.
Funk, who is appearing in the Super Bowl in his rookie season, played for the Terps from 2016-20 and is third in program history in single-season rush yards per carry, after averaging 8.6 yards per carry. He was a 2020 Third Team All-Big Ten selection following a spectacular senior campaign where he ran for 516 yards on only 60 carries with three touchdowns in only four games.

Brooks was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection in his senior 2019 season for the Terps where he led the Big Ten and ranked ninth nationally with 69 solo tackles. He stood third in the Big Ten among defensive backs with 87 total tackles. Brooks also tied for the team lead with five pass break-ups.
Jones transferred to Maryland from Ohio State for the 2019 season and ranked 27th in the nation with 15 tackles for loss, earning him an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection. The Olney, MD native was on the Bengals practice squad in 2020 and for most of the 2021 season and was elevated to the active roster near the end of the regular season.

The Terps are guaranteed a Super Bowl champion on Sunday, making either Funk & Brooks or Jones the 12th Maryland player to ever win the Super Bowl. Here is the full list:
