Terps Focus in on Florida

GAINESVILLE, FL – The Maryland Women's Golf team return to the fairways for the first time in just under two weeks to compete in the 50th Gators Invitational presented by VyStar Credit Union for their third tournament of the spring season.
With their eyes set on The Sunshine State, the Terrapins look to improve their most recent performance placing in a tie for 10th the last time out. Over the two-day tournament (Mar. 5-6), stroke play format Maryland will play the par-70 - 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course, home of the Florida Gators.
Participants in the invitational include host Florida, Campbell, Denver, ETSU, FIU, Mississippi State, NC State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and UCF. Big Ten Conference foes include Michigan State, Michigan, and Indiana.
Maryland will start Patricie Mackova (So.),Maria Vittoria Corbi (Jr.) Panassaya Somchit (Fr.), Karla Elena Vázquez Setzer (So.), and Angela Garvin (Jr.).
The tournament will consist of three rounds of play (day one consisting of 36-holes and day two consisting of 18-holes) in a shotgun format beginning at 8:30 a.m. You can follow the on-course action here.
Hovland's Outlook
"The past week has been focused and intentional preparation for the University of Florida tournament and I am looking forward to seeing this team carry that mindset into the competition. We have been battling some health issues but we have overcome those setbacks and everyone is back to full strength and ready for the opportunity ahead this weekend."
