DeBerdine, Wisnauskas Named Maryland Student-Athletes of the Year

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Senior student-athletes Brooke DeBerdine and Logan Wisnauskas of the field hockey and men's lacrosse programs were named the University of Maryland Student-Athletes of the Year Sunday at the University's 41st annual University Student Leadership Awards banquet.
DeBerdine finished her fifth season with the field hockey team in November, helping the Terrapins advance to their 20th Final Four and third in her career. DeBerdine played in 104 games in her Maryland career, the most ever by a Terp.
DeBerdine served as team captain and earned First Team All-Big Ten and First Team All-America honors. She was named the NFHCA Mid Atlantic Region Player of the Year and a finalist for the Honda Sports Award.
Off the pitch, DeBerdine was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad in all five years of her career and was named an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction this past year. She earned her degree in December in supply chain management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business and is currently playing with the U.S. Senior National Team.
Wisnauskas, a 2022 Tewaaraton Award finalist and 2022 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, has had another incredible in his fifth with Maryland. Up to 70 points (40G,30A) Wisnauskas leads the nation's highest-scoring offense on the undisputed top-ranked Terps.
A Sykesville, Maryland, native, Wisnauskas recently broke the program's all-time record in points, he now owns 307 in his career. He also sits top-five in goals and assists.
Majoring in communications, Wisnauskas is a two-time academic alongside his laundry list of athletic honors.
Wisnauskas and the Terrapins continue their season on Thursday May 5 against Johns Hopkins in the 2022 Big Ten Tournament. The Terps just finished their second consecutive regular season and regular season Big Ten title.
