Maryland Athletics Broadcast & Production Unit Earns National and Regional Nominations

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Broadcast & Production department in Maryland Athletics has earned 13 national and regional nominations as recently announced by Sports Video Group (SVG) and National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA); and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter. 
 
"These nominations are a testament to the hard work and talent of our athletic department," said Mike Farrell Associate Athletic Director of the Broadcast & Production unit. "We have student-athletes with incredible stories to tell, and we're building a team that wants to share those stories in creative and powerful ways."
 
The Len Bias Documentary '34' about the Hall of Fame Maryland legend was nominated for awards by both agencies for SVG's Outstanding Special Feature, Collegiate Athletics and the Capital Emmy for Sports - One-Time Special. The Bias documentary was one of six Terrapin Club+ shows nominated. Joining it on the nomination lists are: The Wizard: A Walt Williams Documentary; Game Changers | Bill McGlone; Game Changers | Michael Locksley & Mental Health; HOME | Darryl Morsell and Season 2 of Unlocked | A Maryland Football Documentary Series. 
 
SVG and NACDA announced Maryland's unit produced seven finalists for the 2022 SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA (CSMAs). The winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the 14th-annual SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA which returns to an in-person ceremony at the SVG College Summit in the Omni Atlanta Hotel on June 13.

The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced Maryland has six nominees for the Capital Emmys. The Emmys represent excellence in television across all media by recognizing the very best in the profession. The winners will be announced 64th Emmy Awards Gala on June 25th at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Md.
