COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's soccer team will continue their non conference season on the road this week as they travel to Navy on Thursday night for an 8 pm kickoff and University of Pennsylvania on Sunday night for a 6 pm kickoff. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN +.

Maryland holds a 10-2-2 all-time record against Navy. The Terps and the Midshipmen most recently met in the 2021 season in which Navy came out with a 3-1 victory in College Park.
Sunday will mark the third meeting between Maryland and Pennsylvania. The Terps have a 1-0-1 record against the Quakers. The two teams most recently met in the 2021 season and fought to a 1-1 tie in Philadelphia.

Maryland began the 2022 season with just one game during the opening week of the 2022 women's college soccer season
The Terps tied Temple 1-1 in Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Owls struck first in the 64th minute, but Maryland responded instantly with a goal just two minutes later as Amanda Schafer connected with Alina Stahl to find the back of the net.
This goal marks Stahl's first goal in a Maryland uniform in her first game with the Terps. The assist is Schafer's first of her career and also marks her first point with Maryland.

Thursday night's matchup against Temple featured six new Terps in the starting lineup including Alina Stahl, Sydney Urban, Amanda Schafer, Juliana Lynch, Sydney Hopkins and Christa Waterman
Kam Fisher, Halle Johnson, Ava Morales and Sofi Vinas also made their debut with Maryland on Thursday night.

a New Era

Coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer continues her first season at the helm of the Maryland women's soccer program. Coach Nemzer comes to Maryland after spending the previous 14 seasons on the coaching staff at Rutgers.
Katie Ely and Alex Ng will also be joining the Maryland staff this season. Ely has spent the previous seven seasons on the women's soccer staff at the University of
Georgia, while Ng comes to Maryland after spending the past two seasons on the University of Richmond women's soccer staff.
Coach Nemzer has also added Kenie Wright to the staff along with Justine Stoner. Wright will serve as the Director of Player Development, the first in the program's history, while Stoner will fill the director of operations position.
Finally, Joe Nemzer rounds out the staff as the program's volunteer assistant coach. Joe brings more than a decade of soccer expertise with experience in both the professional and college ranks.
Coach Nemzer and her staff welcome 19 new Terps to College Park this season, including 9 freshmen and 10 transfers.

2022 SCHEDULE

The Terps will be playing a full 17-game schedule, consisting of 7 non-conference games and 10 conference games.
Maryland will have a six game homestand as non-conference play wraps up and Big Ten play begins.
Big Ten play will begin on Friday September 16 when Maryland hosts Michigan.
