COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland wrestling program announced its 2022-23 wrestling schedule on Monday.
Led by head coach
Alex Clemsen in his fourth season, the Terps are coming off a great seven-win season featuring victories over Duke and Navy, among others.
The Terps will start the 2022-23 season hosting Bloomsburg, American, and Duke before heading to Kansas City for the Tiger Style Invite.Â
Maryland faces Pitt, Army, and Navy to close out the year before starting 2023 with the Southern Scuffle. In February, the Terps will face Binghamton and Columbia.Â
Highlights from last season included
Kyle Cochran winning the Southern Scuffle Title, Dom Solis and Cochran earning places on the Big Ten podium, and sending that pair, plus
Jaron Smith, to the NCAA Championships.Â
This past summer featured the rise of
Jaxon Smith as he dominated on the freestyle scene. Smith won the US Open, Pan-Am Title, and took fifth at the U20 World Championships.Â
Postseason action kicks-off March 4-5 at the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The NCAA Championships will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at BOK Center from March 16-18.Â
