series history
- Friday's matchup with No. 8 Michigan was the 26th meeting between the Terps and Wolverines. Maryland now holds a 21-5 series advantage and a 11-2 record in College Park. The Terps handed then No.2 ranked Michigan a 2-1 loss in Ann Arbor last season.
- Maryland and Michigan have squared off in two tightly contested National Championship finals. Missy Meharg's Terps took home a 2-1 victory in 1999 and the Wolverines claimed a 2-0 win in 2001.
- The Terps defeated Michigan in the first overtime period after Leah Crouse punched in her fourth game winning goal of the season, keeping Maryland a perfect 2-0 in Big Ten play.
- Maryland's Sunday afternoon game against Michigan will be the 15th matchup with the Spartans. The Terps hold a 14-0 record against Michigan State, including a 4-0 victory in East Lansing during the 2021 campaign.

- Coach Missy Meharg enters her 35th season at the helm of the Terps, having led her squads to a record of 605-156-9 with a winning percentage of over 79 percent
- The nine-time National Coach of the Year has amassed 19 Final Fours, 12 NCAA title game appearances and seven NCAA Championships over her tenure
- This past season, Meharg became just the third Division I head coach to reach the 600-win mark. Her 605 wins are the most-ever by any Maryland coach in history across all sports
- Meharg has coached 56 All-Americans, 19 Conference Player of the Year recipients and six of her former student-athletes were named National Player of the Year

Best of the Best on the horizon
- The Terps play an impressive 18-game slate, consisting of 10 non-conference games and 8 conference games.
- Maryland will host 10 home games in 2022 including the 22nd annual Terrapin Invitational.
- The Terrapins will once again play one of the most difficult schedules in the nation playing 12 teams ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Pre-Season Top 25 including 10 ranked in the Top 15.
