Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland opened its exhibition season with a 103-37 victory over California (PA) Sunday afternoon at the XFINITY Center. The Terps used a nice blend of returning players and newcomers to take control of the game in the first quarter. Five Terps scored in double-figures led by freshman Riley Nelson with 23 points and seven rebounds.

• Riley Nelson led the Terps with 23 points with seven rebounds and three assists.
• Bri McDaniel scored 22 points while grabbing six rebounds and three steals.
• Lavender Briggs netted 12 points with five boards.
• Shyanne Sellers added 10 points, seven assists and six assists.
• Jakia Brown-Turner scored 10 points.


Newcomers In Action
• Seven Terps made their first appearance in a Maryland uniform as Jakia Brown-Turner, Summer Bostock, Hawa Doumbouya, Emily Fisher, Riley Nelson, Zen Nuako and Mary Sareen suited in Terp colors for the first time. 

Numbers To Know
• 12: Twelve Terrapins scored in the balanced effort.
• 13: Thirteen Terps saw action, including 11 in the first quarter.
• 61: Eleven Terps combined for 61 rebounds and 10 Terrapins grabbed three or more boards.
