WASHINGTON, DC --- The No. 9 Terps wrapped up non-conference play at American on Sunday with a 2-1 victory in the nation's capital. The Terps move to 10-3 overall and finish the non-conference slate with an 8-2 overall record.
Sammy Popper notched the winning goal towards the end of the third quarter to break a 1-1 tie and bring the Terps to victory. Hope Rose scored Maryland's other goal.
Alyssa Klebasko made five saves. Maryland outshot American 18-10 and held an 11-2 advantage in penalty corners.
