series history
  • Maryland holds a 21-5 all-time series record over Michigan, dating back to 1998. Head coach Missy Meharg was at the helm for every game in series history.
  • The Terps are 5-2 in Ann Arbor. The last time they visited Ann Arbor, they claimed their fifth all-time road win with a 2-1 final score in October 2021.
  • The last time these programs met was in September of 2022. Maryland took a 1-0 overtime victory in College Park.
  • Maryland has clinched nine wins over Michigan since joining the Big Ten in 2014. Two of those wins were during post season play, with Maryland earning a Big Ten Tournament title win in 2015 and a NCAA Semifinal victory in 2017.
  • Competition between Maryland and Ohio State dates back to 1998. The Terps remain perfect against the Buckeyes with a 19-0 all-time series record. Meharg led the team to 17 of those victories.
  • Maryland has picked up six wins in Columbus in series history, as well as 12 all-time wins after the Terps joined the Big Ten in 2014.
  • The most recent victory over Ohio State came in November of 2022, in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Terps took a 5-2 win over the Buckeyes in Columbus.
  • Ohio State is one of three Big Ten teams that Maryland has never lost to. Michigan State and Indiana hold the other two slots.
  • Maryland has shut out the Buckeyes eight times overall, five since joining the Big Ten.

standout performances
  • Margot Lawn had a stellar two-goal performance against the Spartans, followed by a critical assist against American over the weekend. Lawn added a career-high two goals to her season total (6), including the game-winner against Michigan State on Friday. She continues to lead the team in assists with seven, a new season-high. Lawn ranks fourth in the Big Ten, averaging .538 assists per game.
  • Junior Hope Rose continues her goal streak with three goals in three games. She notched her eleventh and twelfth goals of the season against Michigan State and American. She leads the roster in total points with 25, from 12 goals and one assist, along with game-winning goals, with three. Rose owns the fourth-highest goals per game rate (.923) and fifth highest points per game total (1.92) in the Big Ten.
  • Graduate transfer Sammy Popper scored the game-winning goal against American on Sunday. She fired a shot in from the top of the circle that deflected off the defender's stick and above the head of the keeper to give the Terps a 2-1 lead. Popper tallied her fourth goal and second game-winner of the season and remains a consistent piece to the Maryland offense.
  • The Terps utilize the depth of their bench as they average sixteen players participating per match. 12 players have tallied at least one point on the year, including nine goal scorers.
  • Freshman Alyssa Klebasko started both contests over the weekend. She earned her second shutout of the season over Michigan State, 3-0, after making five saves. She owns the second highest save percentage in the NCAA with .865 and the fourth best goals-against average of .643. Klebasko is undefeated as a starter.
