COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Each week during the 2023-24 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians and Surgeons Terp of the Week.
This week, junior
Shyanne Sellers of the Maryland women's basketball team was named Terp of the Week. Sellers continued her strong start to the season, leading the Terrapins with 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists in two games this week. In a tough loss at No. 8 UConn Thursday, she led the Terps with 16 points and went 7-10 at the foul line. She helped Maryland bounce back in hard-fought win over Syracuse Sunday with 19 points, 8 rebounds and a career-high 5 steals. She hit a key jumper with 1:13 left to put the Terps up 6 and hit a buzzer-beater and-1 before halftime to cut the Orange's lead to one possession. She scored 8 points with 2 boards, a steal and an assist in the fourth quarter as Maryland pulled out the 83-81 victory.
