COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The University of Maryland women's tennis team announced their 2024 spring schedule Wednesday. 

"After a great Fall season, we're excited to get back to work this spring as a team.  We've been steadily making progress the past couple of years and this is the strongest team I've had at Maryland, said Head Coach Katie Dougherty. "The top of our line-up shined this fall but I believe our depth and doubles are the most improved part of the program and will be crucial to our success this spring." 

"We've got a great group that worked hard this fall and are hungry to improve and up for the challenge of our schedule and the Big Ten conference," said coach Dougherty 

Maryland's schedule feature's 13 home matches, including matches against 2023 CAA champion William & Mary and 2023 Big Ten champion Michigan. 13 of the opponents in Maryland's schedule finished in the top 75 of ITA's end of year rankings, including three top 10 schools. Eight teams Maryland will face competed in last years NCAA tournament.

The Terps will make two trips out west to face Pac-12 schools, the first trip being to compete in the ITA kickoff weekend for the second season in a row. 

Maryland is coming off back to back 17+ win seasons.  Steadily rising in the ITA rankings coming in at #64 in 2022 and #52 in 2023.

Head coach Dougherty and Associate Head coach Ruth Seaborne are coming into the 2024 season as the reining ITA Atlantic Regional coach and assistant coach of the year for 2023. 

The spring season will begin with the Terrapins hosting Georgetown on January 20th in College Park.
