Two Terps Take Home B1G Weekly Awards

College Park, MD - Two members of the Maryland Gymnastics program were named to the Big Ten Weekly Awards, the conference announced Tuesday. Senior Emma Silberman was named Co-Big Ten Gymnast of the week and Freshman Madeline Komoroski was award Co-Freshman of the Week.
Silberman receives recognition after posting a 39.325 tying Minnesota's Gianna Gerdes for the top all-around score of the meet. Silberman was also excellent on floor (9.900) and vault (9.850) helping the Terps reach their second-best team score of the season with a 196.650.
Komoroski earned his first conference award after scoring a career-high 9.925 on floor in just her second routine in the rotation lineup. Her performance helped the Terps score a 49.450, their highest team score on the event since 2017. Komoroski continues to be a consistent presence on beam posting a 9.825. The Freshman has now scored a 9.825 or higher on beam in six consecutive meets.
The Terps will be back in action on Friday at the Big Five Meet, which will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Terps will compete against Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Penn State. The meet starts at 8 p.m. ET and will air live on Big Ten Network with updates available @TerpsGymnastics on Twitter.
