Schlotterbeck's Two-Homer Game Powers Terps In 10-0 Shutout Win Over UMES

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland (23-8) ended a three-game losing streak on Wednesday in dominant fashion, defeating Maryland Eastern Shore (6-16), 10-0, at Maryland Softball Stadium.

Trinity Schlotterbeck was the story of the night for the Terps, finishing with a three-hit game, including two home runs, recording six RBI and scoring three runs. She also came in relief of starter Courtney Wyche, striking out two in a scoreless inning of work. Schlotterbeck started Maryland's offensive onslaught on Wednesday with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning and continued in the bottom of third with an RBI double. Her second homer of the night capped off a mercy rule victory, a three-run shot with no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Kiley Goff had a multi-RBI night, driving in two on a two-run single following Schlotterbeck in the second, and both Sammi Woods and Jaeda McFarland drove in a run for Maryland, who recorded 10 hits in the win, scoring multiple runs in the second, third and fifth innings, respectively. Wyche had everything working on the mound for Maryland, retiring the first 12 batters she faced in a row before giving up a leadoff single in the top of the fifth inning. She twirled a masterpiece, throwing four scoreless innings on the mound, allowing just the one baserunner and striking out four.
