Terps Drop Series Finale To Ohio State, 13-8

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Maryland (21-14, 6-3 B1G) fell to Ohio State (17-17, 2-9 B1G) in Sunday afternoon's series finale at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Despite the loss, Maryland has won three-straight series to begin conference play and this weekend's series win against the Buckeyes marks the sixth-straight series win of the season.

Maryland didn't score until the sixth inning, putting up multi-run offensive frames in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, respectively. Nick Lorusso had the best offensive game for the Terps after his three-run blast in the eighth inning.

Lorusso had a three-hit day with three runs scored and four RBI for the Terps, ending a two-game hitless streak after setting a new program record with a 31-game hitting streak this season. The homer was his 14th of the season and he now has 55 RBI, which leads the team, the Big Ten, and is third in the country.

Maryland had 11 hits in the loss as two players had multi-hit games, two had multi-RBI games and two scored multiple runs. Luke Shliger, Lorusso and Eddie Hacopian were the lone Terps to have extra base hits on Sunday. On the mound, Matt Orlando and Logan Ott rebounded after a tough start to the day for Terps pitching, giving up two earned runs in three innings of work, striking out four.
