COLLEGE PARK, MD - Each week during the 2022-23 season, a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
Â
This week's Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week is junior Patricie Mackova of the women's golf team.
Â
The No. 30-ranked Mackova tied for first at the Lady Buckeye Invitational after posting a total score of 208 (66-69-73), eight strokes under par, at The Ohio State University Golf Club this weekend in Columbus, Ohio, a tournament record. Mackova's opening round of 66 (-6) was the lowest score of the first round. This marks her seventh top-10 finish of the 2022-23 season, including a win earlier this season.
Mackova shared medalist honors with Monet Chun of Michigan. Chun won the event overall based on having the lower final round of the day out of the two players.Â
The Prague, Czech Republic native and Biochemistry major co-led the field in par-5 scoring at six under par (4.50), and was second in the field in par-3, scoring at three under par (2.75). No. 33 Maryland came in fourth in the event as a team.Â
This is Mackova's fourth Solomon Eye Terp of the Week honor. She was previously honored on Sept. 12, 2022, Oct. 18, 2021, and March 28, 2022.
Â
Patricie Mackova and Maryland are back in action on April 21-23 for the Big Ten Championship at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, Pa.
