Eddie Hacopian Named Big Ten Player of The Week

College Park, MD -- Maryland baseball first baseman Eddie Hacopian has been named Big Ten Player of The Week, the conference announced Monday.

Eddie Hacopian had an exceptional week for the Terps batting .550 with 11 hits, four home runs and 11 RBI across five games. The Potomac, Maryland native has now hit four home runs in his last five games including three straight in matchups against George Washington, James Madison and Purdue. Hacopian was a key factor in the Terps series victory over Purdue batting .429, and leading the team with six hits, two home runs, and five RBI.

Hacopian also earned Terp of the Week recognition for his performance. Each week during the 2022-23 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, is selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.

The Terps will travel up I-95 to play UMBC in their next game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.  The game will be broadcast on American East TV, with live stats available on umterps.com.
