COLLEGE PARK, MD - Four Terps are headed to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Eastern First Round on Wednesday in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jayla Bynum (shot put), Jeff Kline (shot put), Kayla Thorpe (javelin), and Kayla Woods (long jump) will all be competing in the hopes to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas which start on June 7th.

THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES

Last time out

Luke Tobia got the Terps threw a new personal best of 59.53m in the hammer throw, which also moved him up one spot to second all-time in Maryland history.
Kayla Thorpe impressed in the javelin, breaking her own school record, and finishing in sixth place at the championships, throwing a whopping 48.38m.
The men's 4x100 team of Joseph Ewan, Ako Hislop, Kevin Collins, and Brandon James won their heat and finished in 7th place overall with a blistering time of 40.73.
Michaela Bracken also secured a 7th-place finish for the Terps, running 59.82 in the 400H finals.
Eric Albright also placed for the Terps, running 1:49.61 in the 800m finals, which was good for a 7th-place finish.
The 4x400 team of Kayla Woods, Lydia Robling, Kami Joi Hickson, and Michaela Bracken ran a time of 3:41.78, placing 7th.

Meet the Coaches

Head Coach Andrew Valmon is in his 19th season with the Terps track and field team. Valmon brings an abundance of experience, having been the head coach of U.S.A. Track and Field for 2012 Olympic Games, a 2-time Olympic Gold medalist, being part of the U.S.A's 4x400 team in both 1988 and 1992.
Associate Head Coach Danielle Siebert is entering her 12th season as a coach with Maryland, and boasts an impressive resume as a memeber of the U.S.A Track and Field, serving on multiple International team staffs. Siebert also competed for the Terps from 2002-2006.
