
Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The IWLCA announced on Wednesday that the Maryland women's lacrosse team is one of 106 Division I programs to earn IWLCA Academic Honor Squad recognition. In addition, 11 members of the Maryland women's lacrosse team were selected to the IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. As a team, Maryland earned a cumulative GPA of 3.569 and worked towards a 3.576 team GPA in the spring.
Individually, graduate students Abby Bosco and Marge Donovan, seniors Shay Ahearn, Victoria Hensh, Brianna Lamoureux, Hannah Leubecker, Libby May and Emily Sterling and juniors Eloise Clevenger, Julia Hammerschlag and Shannon Smith were all named to the Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. This is the second straight year on the honor roll for Bosco, Ahearn, Lamoureux, Leubecker, May and Sterling.
All 11 Terps that nabbed Honor Roll accolades were also selected to the Academic All-Big Ten team last month. Additionally, Ahearn, Bosco, Donovan, Hammerschlag, Hensh, May, Smith and Sterling were all named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars, which is given to student-athletes across the conference who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year.
